How To Deal With Childish Drivers
August 06, 2017In my previous post, I mentioned some of my most hated drivers in Malaysia. And in this post, I will be talking about "How To Deal With Childish Drivers". The rules on road are very simple and easy to understand.
First of all, if its your fault, please be reasonable and apologies. Do not dear or tremble, this will only portray how scared you are. Avoid being bullied unnecessary. Do what you should do and maybe negotiate or something that works for you. Just make it up so both parties get to settle in peace. Accidents meant to happen unintentionally.
Unfortunately some drivers love to make a big scenes by yelling, hitting on your car, holding on a threatening weapon and so on. Most of the time, these drivers are on fault. The first thing you need to do is keep calm and keep smiling (Don't show your teeth) no matter what. Because everyone is watching, you might be recorded who know. Attitude is very important no matter you're right or wrong.
The second step, let him or her finish her talk. Because drivers like this, when they lost their words, all they do is repeat what they say again and again. Make sure the speech has comes to an end, you then begin your statement. A camera capture would be good but if you don't have, the scar on your car can be justify easily who's right who's wrong. Even if you have faulty accused him or her, at least you wasn't raising your voice but just a fault statement.
The third step, if fault is still not found guilty. Here is the trick.
Always hold on a cheque book doesn't matter if you're using it or not. Take it out from your bag and ask him or her politely how much do he or she need to repair. Write it down in front of the driver so him or her would shut up. Drivers like this will instantly zip their mouth because money solves everything.
When everything is settle on spot and the driver leaves "happily". What you should do is get inside your car, call your bank to cancel the cheque and head to the police station to file a report (Make sure you're filing the report before the driver does). No one is harm, your reputation was not harm, insurance is claimed. Happy ending, though a lot of time is wasted.
Have you been into these kind of accident? Tell me more about it!
Thank you for reading!
